Your "Signature" on a forum, is a line of text that will show every time that you make a post. You can change your signature under Edit Profile. Some people have great original signatures, and some like myself use poker Quotes, and some don't use them at all.

I like to use quotes and sayings about poker because they contain truisms that can help your poker game. And the more you hear them, the more you will remember them. Sort of like your your mother always telling you to wear clean underwear. That came in handy, didn't it?

I also predict that Online Poker Dating Sites just can't be that far off. Why not brush up on some of these sayings and quotes for your next virtual poker date?

A funny poker quote can always provide good entertainment.

So I am going to be placing many poker quotes and  sayings here in this thread. Feel free to copy and past one into your "signature" on the forum. Feel free to add your own original sayings, or quotes that you have found. And feel free to tell these poker quotes to your friends or tell them to visit here at Texaswheel.

Here's a start:

"Most of the money you'll win at poker comes not from the brilliance of your own play, but from the ineptitude of your opponents" - Lou Krieger

"He said, "Son, I've made a life out of readin' people's faces, and knowin' what their cards were by the way they held their eyes."" - Kenny Rogers, "The Gambler"

"If you re-raise a raiser, and he doesn't raise you back, you know he has kicker problems" - Crandall Addington

"Never give a sucker an even break" - Anonymous

"A faint heart never filled a spade flush" - Anonymous

"A king can do no wrong - unless it runs into an ace" - Anonymous

"Money isn't everything - unless you're playing in a re-buy tournament" - Anonymous

"Sir, I really like poker. Every hand has its different problems" - Henry Fonda in My Darling Clementine

"It is better to make people think you are a bad poker player, then to play and remove all doubt. Don't play to impress, play to win" - Michael Gersitz

"Don't get mad that you lost, get mad because you didn't win" - Michael Gersitz

"When we play, we must realize, before anything else, that we are out to make money" - David Sklansky

“The strong point in poker is never to lose your temper, either with those you are playing with or, more particularly, with the cards. There is no sympathy in poker. Always keep cool. If you lose your head you will lose all your chips.” - William J. Florence, From The Gentleman’s Handbook on Poker

Luck's always to blame. - Jean de la Fontaine

Diligence is the mother of good luck. - Benjamin Franklin

"Don't gamble the rent money or you'll land up sleeping on the park bench." -Capt. Summer Fun, Ret.

"Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy." -Dr. G

Ida and Pearl, the two Jewish broads from Cheyenne, that's how they were known. One of my first memories of my grandmother is of her trying to teach me how to play poker when I couldn't even see the table. I'd dress up and try to go gambling with the old ladies, and for some reason they'd let me in. - Gina Gershon

"It is better to make people think you are a bad poker player, then to play and remove all doubt. Don't play to impress, play to win." Michael Gersitz

"Don't get mad that you lost, get mad because you didn't win." Michael Gersitz

“Playing poker in their Quonset hut on Tinian, killing the last hours of the preatomic age” - Peter Goldman

Some folk want their luck buttered. - Thomas Hardy

I like to play blackjack. I'm not addicted to gambling. I'm addicted to sitting in a semi-circle. - Mitch Hedberg

The guy who invented poker was bright, but the guy who invented the chip was a genius.  ~Author Unknown

Poker is the game closest to the western conception of life, where life and thought are recognized as intimately combined, where free will prevails over philosophies of fate or of chance, where men are considered moral agents and where - at least in the short run - the important thing is not what happens but what people think happens.  ~John Luckacs

Whether he likes it or not, a man?s character is stripped at the poker table; if the other players read him better than he does, he has only himself to blame.  Unless he is both able and prepared to see himself as others do, flaws and all, he will be a loser in cards, as in life.  ~Anthony Holden

Poker is a microcosm of all we admire and disdain about capitalism and democracy.  It can be rough-hewn or polished, warm or cold, charitable and caring, or hard and impersonal, fickle and elusive, but ultimately it is fair, and right, and just.  ~Lou Krieger

God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of his own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players [i.e., everybody], to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a Dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.  ~Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, Good Omens, 1991

You have it in your power to turn a bad-beat around simply by realizing this simple truth:  The more bad beats you encounter, the luckier you are.  It's a sign that you are playing against opponents who continually take the worst of it, and if you can't beat someone who always takes the worst of it, you can't beat anyone.  ~Lou Krieger
