The other day after called an all-in raise with two random suited cards.  Of course when his hand won, he was immediately berated for the call.  He immediately replied, "But, they were suited."  Roll Eyes

I always have to remember that just because I would play a hand in a particular way, does not mean my opponent would do the same.  For instance, I would only ever play a 7, 2 hand if I was in the BB and was able to see a free flop.  I would not call them, even if they were suited.  I've heard it enough to know that a lot of other players think that having two random suited cards is magical!  As many times as I've seen it work, no wonder!  Shocked

Everyone thinks they are Gus Hansen - play any two cards.

But Hansen isn't playing any two cards because he believes they are going to win... he plays any two cards to gain an advantage. Confusion abounds... his opponents haven't a clue when Hansen actually has a hand or is playing ATC

Hansen has a deserved reputation as a loose and aggressive player

How many WSOP bracelets does he have?

None

What is his highest finish in the WSOP?

61st

Ya Ive learned to take the good with the bad and just play consistent don't change cause some one else won with some stupid hand. Patience and consistency with sound play will get you far in any tournament over a period of time or cash play for that matter.

Any 2 suited or unsuited cards are good to play about 1 out of every 10 hands in my opinion. 1. It does cause confusion at the table when you happen to win with one of them (The Gus Hansen Effect), 2. Sometimes the flop just lends itself to random low cards being the best.

If I call a non raised pot with 3 7 and the flop comes KA7 and there is a min bet, I will call it because when the 3 comes on the turn, there is huge money to be made there.

It is a good way to mix up your game, just dont get to addicted to it or you will be gone fast.
