Hiya folks.

Lately, I have been thinking about hearing "that was a donk hand to play" comments we all see in chat, during a game.

As if, the commentator is astonished that u would play "such a hand". Happens all the time, and lol, those "hands" win a lot. WHY?

1) It's poker dammit. u only get 2 facedown and 5 community cards. the best 5 card combination wins. so, yes, your AA will fall 20-30% of the times u play it. duhhhhhh

2) Some (most) people have this expection that only playing premium hands will get u premium results. And hold their noses sooooo high in the air with a premium hand and think "how dare you" no matter what the callers cards are.

3) A lot of times, a player gets SS and will get desperate and push with any 2 cards. some will do it at the flop, with bottom pair, or not, lol, and wait on the poker gods to decide,.

4) Some will play crap to steal. but then, they aren't playing the cards, but the player and position. Sometimes they are caught.

5) The BB special. Come on folks. if I got 64 off in the BB and u let me in the flop and the flop is 664, duhhhh, yeah, I'm gonna play that. lol, dont know the # of times people have called me a donkey for playing BB specials. lol

6) Naked Agression. or some of u might call it a donk playing, lol. Hell it works. THE AGRESSOR USUALLY WINS AT POKER

7) the Bluff. Do we all remember that? mighty fine if u win, but u get the :"I cant believe u played that" if it don't.

8 ) the true donkey. Ok, who cares? We want this player in ALL games so we can feast. lol. Just cause u got probability on ur side doesn't mean probability will pick u.

9) the change-up player. Ok we are schooled to "Mix" up our play. why then should u be called out for a "lousy hand:" play?

10) ANY 2 cards can WIN

My favorite poker player Mike Matasow - would  you call him a donkey?  I have watched him many times miss the flop... fire away... miss the turn and fire away... miss the river and fire away again. And when his opponent folds it it a beautiful thing to see as Mike turns over his two cards .... he had nothing but just took down the pot  Grin

Poker when played among poker players is more than the cards - it is  physiological warfare.  Poker is the game I  love but rarely get to play.... too many donkeys and not enough poker players

I completely agree with the last two posts! Once again witchywitchy comes thru again!  Donks.donks.donks.. A way overused word in the poker world, and am tired of crying and wining from losers about it.  Thank you for someone to bring this topic up!
