Had a chat with The Don (before the Phoenix arose again) re: games at poker4ever. He informed me that there is some money there for this month for forum event(s), and asked me what, when, how I wanted to play it. ...
Well, I know that there are some members here who have not deserted 4ever. So, what, when, who do YOU want to play it? I've posted before when Don has set things up for us, but they don't get off the ground ... not even the Free events.

So who is interested and how do you want to play it?

t1

ps I see there is no thread for Usernames at poker4ever. I know that the new Lord of the Manor is no longer interested in the site, but I am. Discrimination?  ds

That is one site Don is going to keep here and set up events for. Right now we are still getting everything set. Witchy has about 300 members that had bad emails returned saying no such address she has to remove each one manually. Right now we just need to get the site ready for some events.

Don will have 2 sites here that he is working with Poker4ever and Carbon poker he will also have Redstar here and at Freerolltourny.

Witchy and I have also talked and the TW event passwords will soon only be posted on here the events will still be listed at FRT members will have to visit TW and be a member to get the passwords. After witchy gets going she will be doing the same for FRT events on here.

I just recently found Poker4ever. You know, You JUST have to love the name. Unfortunately, I signed up under the banner of another forum, that promised a freeroll there for people that, duhhh, signed up under their banner. SOOOOOOOO, all was well, till I, signed up as the 5th person, in that tourney. A whopping $100 was up for grabs. I was excited. I was pumped. I was thinking, even a donkey could win this! Well, have you ever seen a donkey cryHuh No one else showed up. The Tournament was cancelled, because the minimum (10) did not show up.

Anyway, I like ther site poker4ever, and other skins of the network. Does anyone know the name of the network??

So, set it up. I'm in. I promise to POKER4EVER

Everleaf Gaming Network

The problem the network has is that they only allow players to have one account on the network. The bigger problem is that certain skins will only list events for players that have downloaded from a certain link (Affiliate). Poker4ever is one of those skins, so if we do have Poker4ever events again unless they agree to set them up for everyone to see you wouldn't be able to play.

Yes, gotta love the name! And I also like the site (network).

But as Buc explains, they do have some sillyass braindead rules there. And I've been in that same (crying) position many times. I can't count all the events that Don has set up that didn't come to start because people just didn't show up. And I'm afraid that, if you downloaded from a link in another forum, you won't be able to play either! A sillyass rule, that that's the way it is ... sucks, don't it ...

The purpose of my post was to try to get some signs of life from those of us who can play these events ... i.e. members who downloaded and regged from the TWheel link. I'm sure that Don will set up any game at any time on any day that we want. The post has been here for a few days now and, though all replies/comments are always welcome, the response from the target member group has been ... well, none.

Am I the only TWheel member still affiliated with P4E?

t... I think you may have stumbled upon why none of the P4E games Don has scheduled over the last several months have run. The members have transferred their accounts to other Everleaf skins.

I still have a bunch of bounced accounts to delete, manually intensive - super boring  and I usually dose off ... and that has to be done before another Texaswheel newsletter goes out.  They have to all deleted today.. soon as thats done I'll set up a P4E section. Let's see how many TW'ers still have P4E accounts

Well, I've exchanged a few PM's with Don over a period of time. and all my post on the subject have been based on the assumption that he would have told me of there are, in fact, too few members here. But maybe he hasn't had the time to do all the required 'paperwork'. Since there has been NO response to my posts ... well, we shall see what happens. Actually, since they so radically changed their events schedule, I don't play there much at all now (used to play every day!).

t1pfdc, I know what you mean about the change in Everleaf network events schedule. And does not mesh with my schedule anymore either. Looks like a bust for them in my view, as the number of peole playing in their  Daily $200 has been halved and not recovered yet.

There is a drop in the number of players at Poker4ever for sure.  Just why, I don't know, but it could have had something to do with the stupid way they have handled private tourneys.

Way back when it was my favorite site, bar none!
They had an Omaha Hi/Lo freeroll at prime European time. I played that and the $200 fr almost every day. Plus a few other tournaments, and some at the cash tables as a diversion ... Made ouple deposits and redeemed bonuses.
Then they changed the Omaha event to a $1 buyin, and that was even better!
Then they took away the Omaha event.
Now they changed the $200 fr to some ungodly hour when nobody can play.
And last few times I looked at the cash tales they were pretty much deserted.

What a waste ... was a great site!

Poker4ever........

Well back in the day P4E was the shit... Then along came the password thiefs

Many many affiliates complained to the affiliate manager about the password thiefs and reported the sites that were posting passwords to private events in the hope they would have their affiliate accounts banned.

This was not the case.....

In P4E's infinate wisdom they decided that the easiest way to handle the problem was to make all private events closed to only players that downloaded form the hosting site....

Did the password thiefs go away? YES!
Did the rule harm the amount of players playing in private events? YES!

So all the affiliates complained again....

The affiliate manager said hey, you wanted it fixed, it is fixed, deal with it.

So business fell..... Then on top of that the UIEGA (stupid gambling law) came about and killed much of the remaining business.

P4E decided to become a network instead of a single room to bring business up.

As Everleaf Gaming, they opened poker room after poker room..... Affiliates contacted these other rooms and made all kinds of deals about opening their private events to all players....

The new owners of the rooms were unaware that "Everleaf" (P4E) had a rule that said only players that use banners from forums are allowed in those forum tournaments...

So forum after forum got players to open up new accounts at the new poker rooms (except TW did not do this).

Everleaf figured this out and said hey..... ONLY ONE ACCOUNT PER PLAYER ON THIS NETWORK.

What to do now.....

Abandon ship says all forum owners........ keep the account open that you opened from my affiliate banners and keep playing in our tournaments.......

Well that didn't work... some players liked the "colors" of some of the rooms and/or won a little money in a private event or a freeroll and stuck with that particular room.

So now you have players scattered all over the network and none of them can play together in a private tournament at a different room because you can only have one account open on the network...

Now everyone complains, everyone switches poker rooms as the other forums they belong too have private events and it is a mess.

Have I brought all this up to the staff at Everleaf? YES!

Will they ever change the rules? Who knows

What I do know is that there are over 500 players that are (were) eligible to play in the private events at Poker4ever hosted by TW.

TW has given away $11,149 at Poker4ever since Feb 2006, and tried to give-a-way $12,979 over the course of that time. So out of all the tournaments hosted a total of $1,830 has gone to waste (quite a bit if you think about it). But, the loss only accounts for about 14% of the total, not bad considering what has gone on.
(These stats are all verifiable and I will email anyone the spreadsheet that wants to see them)

Most of that money went to waste because of all the poker room jumping players have done on the network lately.

For this month there is $70 available and it will probably go in the trash too...

Or, maybe some of you can go back to your old Poker4ever accounts and start playing in the tournaments again Smiley

Yes, there are still some of your old friends playing under the P4E skin and have not moved on to other rooms; thats why you still get the FREE money every month to play with.

Will there still be games hosted on P4E every month? YES!

I am convinced that Everleaf will go the Way of Jetset and a few other sites.  One day it will just dry up and blow away UNLESS they change their ways.  But that is only my opinion.

Everleaf figured this out and said hey..... ONLY ONE ACCOUNT PER PLAYER ON THIS NETWORK.

So this explanation (excuse?) they have given (which I never really did believe) that this was a requirement of their gaming license is not true? It was Everleaf that decided that?
