Hey folks, I can't write poetry, but maybe some of you all can. Here's one I found on the web to start you all off. I'm thinking that there must be a poker player amongst us that has poetry skills.

SO HEAR THIS: I am putting a bounty on witchywitchy, our TW site administrator
$5.00 (FIVE DOLLARS) transferred to your CAKE poker account.

WRITE A POEM ABOUT WITCHYWITCHY

CONTEST RULES:
Contest ends May 31, 2008   Results posted here JUNE 5, 2008
A screenshot of the money transfer will be posted.
MINIMUM ENTRIES REQUIRED: 30 posts by 30 DIFFERENT people. You of course may post as many times as wish, but I need at least 30 different people to post. Contest is null and void if the minimum required posts are not met.
JUDGING: I will have final say in this matter (It is my five bucks dammit). But I will ask bucnright (who will be ineligible if he accepts) his opinion, and also try to get  a few "official" poker poetry experts (they have many poker poetry blogs out there) opinion. In any case, I will make the final decision.
Contest is only open to members of the TexasWheel Forum.
Your poem must include/be about witchywitchy AND poker.

So, lets have fun with this..

Here is a poker poem to get you all started. For those of you who didn't even know there was such a thing as poker poetry

The March Of The Poker Hands

The lowest of hands
Has no cards that share
And next comes the hand
With only One Pair

But if you can add
One pair to another
Perhaps it is Two Pair
That can beat your brother

A third of the same
Gives you Three of a Kind
Or string five cards together
And Straight comes to mind

The numbers a jumble
Yet all of one suit
Well, that is a Flush
That brings you the loot

Take two of a kind
And three of another
And you have a Full House
To show to your mother

When your cards look the same
Because four of them match
It is Four of a Kind
That you have in your batch

And if you can get them
To march nice and straight
While all of one suit
A Straight Flush is your bait

If the cards are in order
And to a suit they are loyal
With the highest an Ace
Then your Straight Flush is Royal

You might think we are done
But with wild cards around
There is even a chance for
Five of a Kind to be found

At last we have come
To the end of our game
Now you know all the hands
And can call them by name

Roses are red,
Violets are Blue
Hey Witchywitchy,
This Poem's about you!!

The cards are not coming,
Gone card dead you see.
The best hand you have had,
Was two diamonds, a four and a three.

Should you patiently wait,
Until you get better hands?
Or just play like a donk,
And see how that stands?

You could just start calling,
with any cards, any two.
But that style of play,
Just isn't for you.

But you are having no fun,
as you fold, fold, fold, fold.
So you remember the story,
that once to you I told.

The Story of the greatest,
Poker players of all.
The ones who knew just,
When to fold, raise, or call.

First there was Jack,
What a good poker name,
When he held the jacks,
He was on top of his game.

But his Jacks ran into a girl
With a fantastic rack.
And her Big Pair of Queens,
easily defeated Jack.

She looked at the board,
And she knew that top pair.
We sometimes no good,
When certain cards were there.

She found it easy to drop,
Her hand that was made.
When the community cards,
showed three with a spade.

Even though all around,
Thought her pair was so fine,
She folded them quick,
seeing seven, eight, nine.

Her brother played poker
He was pretty good too,
He played suited connectors,
To beat me and you.

His two and three clubs,
Had won a few chips.
But his sister always folded,
With a smile on her lips.

Her patient, smart play,
Came in quite handy,
She waited for the board,
A pair and a Queen, quite dandy.

Her full house had beaten,
His flush or his straight.
That Donkeys always hit,
And good players Hate.

But the Queen with the rack.
Was still playing the game,
The next player sat down,
And I'll Tell you his name.

He is a gambling man,
By the name of chase,
And his twin brother joined,
I'll say his name was Jase.

Chase was a donkey,
all through and through.
He would call till the river
Then what would he do.

If the card that he chased,
Happened to be on the table.
Then he would re-raise,
If not he'd stay in the stable.

The Chasers get lucky,
They win and they win
But sooner or later,
That luck will run thin.

His brother, you remember,
I said his name was Jase,
He would call preflop,
with any rag and an ace.

He would crush the poor souls,
going all in with a pocket pair.
Jacks, Queens, and even Kings,
Lose when the board has an ace there.

But the girl with the rack,
She knew them quite well.
And she always beat them,
As time would tell.

The chaser would miss,
And his stack would go blind*,
And Jases aces would lose,
To her three of a kind.

Now Witchy remembered this story,
and it helped her through.
as she folded and folded,
and did not know what to do.

She thought of that tale
and the moral it kept.
All those other players lost,
while the Queen of Cards slept.

They eliminated each other,
trading all of their stacks,
Until she finally got cards,
The great Queen of Racks.

The moral it is hard to explain,
I will give it a try just for you.
Tis good to have a nice pair,
and a brain is quite useful too.

* - A few friends and I coined the phrase Going blind, or Went Blind, as a way of saying blinded out.

As a note I wrote this as what I call an instant poem.  This means I saw the post about a poem, I clicked reply and I typed.  No rough draft or editing....just the thoughts as they came to my mind.  Hope you liked it.

there is a woman named witchy
whose withdrawl from poker got her itchy
so she was doomed to play
the game of poker all day
win or lose she kept going
all the while  knowing
shes one tourny away
from her biggest payday.

Just so as you all know.  June 5th is my birthday...so post some poems before this contest gets canceled!!!

I is not that hard to write poems at all,
Simply think and type and let the words fall.
It happens to me all of the time,
Just try to make the last words rhyme.
But this contest has a couple of rules,
So mention Witchy at least once you fools!!
