This idea came from another forum, but I found it fascinating:

Basically...What is the meaning behind your Screen Name in poker?? What is the story as to why you chose your Screen name??

I chose "villaridge" because it was unique, in that I never saw it on a poker site before, and that is the name of the small town in Missouri that I grew up in. I never wanted to have a different name at each poker site. Now I am quite pleased to say that I am villaridge (or variations thereof; villaridge1, villaridge2, etc) at about 40 or so pokerrooms. I do have a few sites where I have a different name (Iron Duke: pokergodcowboy, and Sportsbook as: NewPokerGod), but basically I'm villaridge everywhere. So I have managed to lock up my poker fate, and poker nickname at most of the poker sites.

Anyway, I would like to see YOUR story here. Why did you choose your nickname?

As a matter of fact....yes I do!

Let me help you out over your shyness, by making a bold, wild and totally tounge-in-cheek prediction as to why you chose the nick "Tomturkey46"

1) You capatilized the "Tom" part but not the "turkey" part.
CONCLUSION: "Tom" is in fact your real name. You are making allusions to the fact that you are a "turkey" at poker, when in fact you are NOT a turkey at poker .
2) You have the numer "46" at the end of your nick.
CONCLUSION: you are 46 years old. or were born in 1946. Or that was your number at some sport.
3) Your nick is "Tomturkey46"
CONCLUSION: Your name is Tom, you are 62 years old, and you grew up with turkeys on a farm or you got called a turkey alot as a child and resent it.

Anyway, lol, hehe, you are a great pokerplayer Tom and I feel like a turkey everytime I have to go against you on the poker tables. Oh, If my prediction of what your poker nickname means is not correct, please correct.

well, well, Tom, since we are of age, I'm 52, it's worth a good headshake and a ruefull grin to realize how childhood events have shaped us as the adults that we have become. Can u beat your brother at poker, now? lol

SumerblusasT, thanks for the flowers, I've missed your sunny disposition also. But that doesn't mean u can get away with not posting on how and why you have the nick of SumerblusasT ( and variations). So... get to it and post.......or I will do it for you!!!!

Hey, works for me underdog140!  Like you, I am for the underdog, and I think that is part of a worldwide feeling  of everyone to see the underdog win. It is a good thing to have/want/aspire to.

But I grew up in America, and at the mention of "underdog" I see that cartoon caracter "underdog", singing the line, "Here I come to save the day" as the cartoon caracter Mighty Mouse did.

Well been called Roadawg for close to 25 30 years now. Now some have asked me about my name guessing if I was a Biker now or in my younger days or a outlaw exconvict cause thats what some of them people called someone close that one asked by a Prison Guard from Huntville Texas  Roll Eyes I got a laugh out of it. In my 20's used to Frame homes little ones and huge ones also my partner Dawgbreath stacked roofs, the pay was alot more the higher you went so being greedy thats what we did. Now your wondering so how did ya get the name. At times we would lean out over the edge to nail and I mean lean out so that you needed something holding your belt on nail bags. Get  feet planted good  held the belt as if his life depended on it,  Which was  ten out of ten times it did and one day Danny aka  ( Dawgbreath) hollered  hey dawg need another foot to nail. Foreman hollered get back your gonna fall.  Danny hollered down  Hell no thats my Roadawg's got ahold of me and I trust him with my life to make a point he leaned out further and laughed in a lower voice heard him say Roadwg don't let me drop now and I'll buy the beer after work.  Grin  We were bro's and did whatever was asked for the other no questions asked and that's how got the name only one I use online and even here at home that's what everyone calls me or knows me by is Roadawg.   And no we never let go of the bro hanging out over edge finish nailing, took to long to go get a lift anyway.
