Well I learned something tonight. After a couple long tournaments don't take your cash to a cash table. At least for me it was a bad idea. I was tired and made bad decisions. I could tell I was mentally tired but I wanted to keep building my bankroll and that was a huge mistake. I lost it and not even to bad beats just bad play. So for now on Im gonna take a rest after long tournaments and anytime I feel tired. So good lesson for tonight. I got to remember this. Anyone else experience this let me know

I hear ya chipchomper. I found out, like you, real quick that Tournament play and Cash games are like Fire and Water. I still to this day am scared of cash games, the poker theory for them is SO much different from Tournament play.

YES a long tournament can be mentally tiring !

If you are skilled enough to make it past the 2nd break for sure .
However jumping to a cash table soon after to continue a roll is not a great idea.
Taking a break would be advice. There will always be another game another day .

If you are scared of cash tables don't be it is where you can really get the true skills learned to use in the bigger tournaments.
Maybe starting at  very low  tables or low Sit n GO  - Everyone is different though .

Sounds like you were playing more for a luck streak then a true building streak .
That in itself can not be good especially after a tournament. Each game / players and styles are different at every individual table .

Better luck next time -  Wink

Not playing tired is a great rule of thumb at all times.

I also had to learn this the hard way with some losing sessions and nowadays I only play tournies at a good time for me and never hit the cash tables unless I am feeling alert.

Good luck on the efelt with your newfound insight!
