all the time i loose on AA maybe i am unlucky or i dont know playing

mostly on AA i go all in ... its so bad cause not all the time you get calls

but if i play it with a big rise i always loose cause i dont know to fold if there is a flush or a straight ..

so please learn me how to play a pair of hand

The best teacher is experience. AA may be the best hand but it is hardest to play.

It is true that the majority of the time AA wins small or loses big. Go all in preflop and get no callers.... slow play and you give opponents an opportunity to make a hand.

It seems inevitable if I have AA the flop will have K and if I have KK the flop will have A... the pokergods enjoy a good laugh  Grin Grin

With any pair so much enters into the process - things I have learned over  years of playing that I no longer have to think about...

Position
Size of blinds - size of stack
Players - is the table filled with donkeys that won't fold == EVER??
Patience --- there are some days I have little to none --- that is lethal

I think I have the same problem Cheesy But now I changed my style.I'm not playing slow with a pair like A A , K K , Q Q or J J...I bet 4xBB and with this bet only one player or 2 max will call and then I will beat him/them. Cheesy Aniway it is hard to say how to play a big pair...It's all about luck Smiley

The reason to get everyone fold from beginning you should raise x4 as BB, better to steal the pots and get callers. Haha

I slow play JJ if I don't it kicks my butt every time .  I don't slow play AA but I think witchywitchy is right  - depends on your table position and mood . Are you early in the tournament or not  If you are going out at least go out with a decent hand  .

There are 3 ingredients in poker, Skill, Luck and Bluffing !  You have to realize what to use, when to use it and how to use.

As witchywitchy stated about position, Blind size etc play in after I have seen hole cards.  But I remind myself allot with pocket pairs I need 4 runners for str8s and flushes and there may and I mean MAY 2 of same cards as the pockets to touch felt ( 1 out of 483 hands play you will see it and will not be in your hand when they show up ) , so remember with any pockets you are more likely to hope they hold up!

I play odds and then players at table before hole cards given!  Every hand can be cracked except for str8 flushes and yes I have seen and know of Q high Str8 flush broken by the ROYAL Flush and it hurts when done to you just like all other hands where you were leading preflop to lose post river!

I've been slow-playing, simple call, and particularly with a group of 4 callers, have done wonderful with it.  Works for me.  Avoid the temptation to go all-in.  Sometimes, that scares others off.

Also, if you find a 810J on the flop...beware...that's a money-hit for a player holding Q9 or QK...at minimum, they've got 8 outs.
