I remember belonging to a forum years ago, where we primarily played on one site. We ran regular fr's n buy-ins and the turn out was wonderful, it was like a real club. You saw the same people everyday and when knew players joined, most stayed. This is what i miss!
There are a few members in this forum who know what I'm talking about, because they were there. Damm, we had such a good time!
I wish we could have one primary site to play on and build a good player turnout, and maybe a few other sites too.
I believe it has gotten to crazy with so many sites-just my opinion....

We try to limit the sites we use as long as the site continue to want us.

AP, Cake, and Bodog have been regular sites we have used and continue to use.

Carbon we used for a long time and they cut back in private events for alot of forums. We tried BCP to take the place of Carbon and the turnout was not good enough. We than tried GR88 to take the place of Carbon we set up a $200 freeroll and $2 buy-ins. The freeroll is packed and we couldnt get 10 players for the buy-in to start. How long will GR88 gives us events with that kind of turnout. We also added Feltstars and are seeing they are doing somethings above what every other merge site offers.

Actually, I think the problem is more forums than before.  Most people belong to a number of forums and have to choose between games being played and which forum they tend to be most loyal to. With new forums and new poker rooms opening all the time the "small town" atmosphere seems to get lost.

you know that is a very good point. i would use the walmart comparison. remember when there were still mom and pop shops, remember when there were still specialty stores in small town america (apologies to the rest of the non usa members but i am american). we seem to be at that transitional point in the poker forums were the small community environment is quickly disappearing. no more mom and pop community store. no more specialty stores. just one big asz wally world and if they dont have it. your just screwed. i must admit the three sisters has done a bang up job of keeping things homey.(three sisters tw/pfp/frt or what ever order you call out the gurls names)  and please  LORD let the poker forum wally world self destruct before it effects this place!!

Three sisters??   Grin You are on a roll this morning asz

So many of the smaller forums are being gobbled up and turned into mega-forums. Yep the Walmart analogy works

Think you have seen Buc and I refer to the forums as sister forums  Grin  We do our own thing but get together for the family functions - tournaments!!
