This is truly freighting ! I know that here in South Carolina , I have friends who were sitting around a patio outside grilling out on a Friday night minding their own business.
No One was drinking and driving , no one was getting kicked out of a bar for fighting over someone's girl , Just simply playing some Beer '' Flip Cup'' and high low and Texas Holdem - Their kids were at the In -law's ...
All the sudden huge men in black ski masks kick in the front door and they think they are being robbed !!! It was the Flipping FEDS !!
EVERYONE went to Jail for playing games that involve gambling - this was someone's home . co - workers and couples who were friends Now they have an arrest record , embarrassment and a legal mess .
I declined the invite and went out to dinner that night ! - PHEW
And the 60 something yr old Gramma who's well known in our city owned a Bar and her 2 son's operated it . A simple neighborhood Pub for at least 15 yrs . The Grama was taken to jail and sentenced to 5 yrs !! For patrons who were betting on football games ! within her establishment !
I have not heard of anyone getting in trouble for Online poker in our city as of yet - The only Online trouble you hear about here is Pedophiles who are in government offices venturing to kiddie porn but my eyes are peeled .
It makes me think what is this really all coming to ?
Part of me wants to quit all together but I really enjoy the game the online friends I have made .
The petitions are a great way to voice our opinions but now I have seen where you can do a personal petition letter . Honestly I shy'ed away .
Of course we all chat and joke about bringing the lap tops to jail--- but friends, I am not 25 anymore , I would literally have a stroke if someone kicked my door in and took me to jail over something so stupid . If we do deposit online I think it is best to use a private way to do it , like PicClub or the gas station cards . for Gods sake I will never use my personal debit or bank card EVER .. I doubt they are gonna spend tons of money unraveling how we spent 100 bucks . If they do then hell with it all I am going out with a bang ! -
